It has been another busy week at Friesland, with both Y11 and Y13 working very hard on the final push towards their grades this summer, and all students engaging in lessons after the long weekend.
It was also our DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) day on Wednesday, with all staff and students across the school taking the time to read during the day. Literacy, and reading for pleasure, really are a significant part of our culture at Friesland, and I would urge you to engage with your children around what they are reading as much as possible. More will be published around our whole school approach to literacy in the coming weeks.
I am sure you are aware that the national C19 picture is improving dramatically, but that there was a significant local outbreak earlier this week. It is really important that we all remain vigilant, follow the plans and continue with our testing to avoid any outbreaks at Friesland. If you are ever unsure about anything Covid related please e-mail me at email@example.com and I will always get back to you, any day of the week.
Depending on when you read this you will have seen Friesland’s other big announcement this morning. Again, whatever your views on that please do contact me if you wish to talk anything through.
