Welcome to Friesland School, Year 6’s! We’re really looking forward to meeting you all very soon

Normally, you’d be coming to visit us to get settled in to your new school, but we’re having to do things a little differently this year.

On this page you will find a couple videos – one is a welcome video, so you can meet some of your new teachers and get answers some of the questions you may have about coming up to us.

The second video is a virtual tour of the school, so you can get start getting to know your way around the school.

New! You can now meet your new form tutors virtually! Scroll down to ‘Meet the Tutors’ for more information.

Parents – copies of some of the letters and work we have sent home to you recently are towards the bottom of this page.

If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us. The best way to get in touch at the moment is via email – please contact Mrs York at [email protected]. You can also telephone us on 0115 939 7326, but please be aware we still only have a few members of staff in school each day, so there may be a delay in responding to you

If you were unable to join our online presentation and live Q&A on Tuesday 30th June, you can watch it here. FAQs from the event are available to read by clicking here

These lessons are separate from the music curriculum offer at key stage 3. More information on peripatetic music lessons, and how to express an interest in them, is available on the Performing Arts Hub.

Our woodwind teacher currently has immediate availability from September onwards. For more information please click here. To express an interest, please use the form available from the Performing Arts Hub (linked above).

Transition work

Please find below copies of the Year 6 work booklets we have sent home recently, to have a go at over the Summer. There is no expectation to complete these booklets, but if you do decide to give them a try there will be reward points given out by your subject teachers in September.
