A very merry band of Friesland Sixth Form students, ‘assisted’ by Mrs Carr, Mr Puddy, Mrs Doherty and Mr Hull provided a showcase of their versatility and skills during a fun filled trip to Blackpool. In the true spirit of the performing arts history of the school, students treated (!?) anyone fortunate enough to listen, to a medley of ‘tunes’ which made their music teacher and Head of Year Mrs Carr, truly proud! It certainly sweetened the three hour haul to the delights of the North West coast.
Students then exhibited their architectural, engineering and design abilities whilst digging holes and designing sand castles. Abundant sporting prowess was displayed during Boules, Rounders, Cricket, Football and the next Olympic sport of throwing a missile. Mr Lilley was delighted to hear this news.
Excelling at consuming fish, chips and doughnuts, years of food technology education on healthy eating was put to exemplary use.
The Pleasure Beach was packed so we may look at an alternative time of year to visit but those who braved the queues in a quintessentially British manner appeared to have been rewarded.
The football has settled happily in its new home in Ireland.
