This year’s winter music concert was one of our biggest to date, with 26 different acts performing to a packed audience. There was a wide variety of acts and performances, from soloists and duets to large groups, including Mrs Carr’s orchestra, Mr Rosling’s Rrock band and a brand new singing group led by Miss Beckett, the chamber choir, whose performance of Eric Whittacre’s Glow was spine-tinglingly brilliant. Other acts included the Cole sisters with another one of their brilliant self-composed duets, Harvey Tavener’s brilliant Bach’s Prelude… with a twist, the Pop Choir and the Year 11’s show finale, Bohemian Rhapsody.
Ticket sales for this concert were raising funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, in memory of Lewis Scott who we sadly lost a short time ago. Ticket sales and further donations on the night raised a fantastic £772, all of which has been donated in Lewis’ name.
Thank you to all the performers and everyone who attended this brilliant evening. We’ll see you again in the summer term for the 2019 Summer Music Concert!
