During the week of September 25 th staff and students of Friesland school came together to celebrate the European Week of languages.
This year we had a variety of events to celebrate the week, including
- Themed food from different European countries served in the school canteen each day.
- Staff greeting students into their lessons using a variety of different languages
- Staff wearing badges celebrating the different languages they can speak.
- A European quiz delivered in PSHE
At the end of the week we were delighted to welcome year 6 staff and students from Firfield Primary School who came to Friesland to join us for a traditional German breakfast. The students participated in a carousel activity doing different tasks introducing the year 6 students to basic German. Our students along with Julien our German Assistant were on hand to help and support them. They then enjoyed warm bread, butter, cold meats, chocolate spread, chocolate milkshake and apple juice!
