Over the last two months a select group of 12 year 8 students have been taking part in a University style course. It all started just before Easter when we visited the Sutton Bonnington campus of Nottingham University. After a tour and an introduction the students met their tutor Lexi Earl, a Philosophy Undergraduate and a PHD in Education.
Over the following two months the students studied a topic titled ‘Do the ends justify the means?’. They looked at a range of world events including Nelson Mandela, Terrorism and Euthanasia. Each student then produced a 1500 word University style assignment around this topic. We are delighted to say that they all passed and graduated from the course, even if some did struggle with the mortar board hats! Below is a photo of them on their graduation day at the University of Warwick. Well done to all, your behaviour and commitment to the course far exceeded your age.
