Many of our students have received their offers from universities and are making their final decisions. Applications for apprenticeships and employment are also underway. We continue to work with a range of providers to support this process, including Pearson, Catch 22, Rolls Royce, Boots and the Universities of Nottingham and Derby.
In PHSE we have listened to student requests for advice on ‘life beyond Friesland’, especially in relation to tips on managing budgets and other finance related issues. We have also looked at the ‘perils and positives’ of using social media and Mrs Pitman is planning to offer cooking sessions to help students survive and prosper when they leave home!
Student finance can now be applied for – please see the separate sheet for details.
We will be hosting outside speakers from Antony Nolan and the Teenage Cancer Trust and hope to do some final charity fundraising before year 13 depart.
We will host a Leavers Lunch on Friday 27th May and also look forward to our end of exams celebration at the summer ball on Friday 24th June. Lessons will be scheduled in all subjects up until the final exam, so we sincerely hope that students will capitalise upon this. If a student has an afternoon exam, they are not expected to attend lessons on that morning.
Just a reminder that August 18th is results day and it is strongly advised that students come in to collect results and consult with staff where necessary. We hope that this will be a very happy and successful day and that all of our students will be able to embark upon their first choice of future pathway.
