6th form students at Friesland School were involved in an Essential First Aid course ran by St John Ambulance this week. They had an afternoon of training that focused on communication & casualty care, primary survey, recovery position, chest pain, severe bleeding, choking all ages and resuscitation of all ages (infant, child & adult).
Students which included those on the A-Level PE and BTEC Level 3 Sport courses were taken through real-life scenarios in how to deal with emergencies and carried out practical elements to reinforce the classroom learning that took place. This qualification will remain with students for three years before they have to do a refresher course. A great afternoon gaining a must-have qualification!!
Many thanks to St John Ambulance for coming in to deliver it!
