Once again the dance students of Friesland produced two evenings of wonderful, high quality dance to sell out audiences. The evenings included various performance groups spanning across all key stages and involved over one hundred students.
The dance pieces varied from solos and duets/trios, to groups of over 30 students on stage, spanning a wide range of different dance styles. Various exam pieces were shown from our year 11, 12 and 13 classes in preparation for their dance exams that took place the following week. The night also showcased some of the work that has been done with local primary schools with Ladycross Infant School performing their Flintstones piece and Firfield Primary School performing their “New York New York” number (click here to read more about our primary school dancers). All the students were a credit to themselves and to the department and truly reflected the work ethic, commitment and talent we have across all year groups within the school. We are now looking forward to selecting a few of the pieces to go through to the Erewash Dance Festival and the Year 5 Performing Arts Days which we have coming up this term!
