On Thursday 27 November, 92 Y8 students took a whistle stop tour to Germany by visiting the Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham.
Students had a good time trying out different foods, listening to typical German music and examining the traditional Christmas products on sale there. The market is organised and run but Birmingham’s twin town of Frankfurt, so many of the stalls are run by German people and some Friesland students were able to successfully try out some German in a real situation. An added twist was the selfie competition, where students were given the challenge to take the best selfie photo to include something authentically German from the market. There were some great entries, but in the end first prize went to the amazing pretzel eaters, with a close second going to students in 8L with the giant carousel behind them.
Thanks to our sixth formers and our German student Katharina Larin for judging the competition.
